Tom Fisher
Mr. Fisher is a Venture Partner and a Limited Partner at Karerra Capital. Mr. Fisher is also the VP of Cloud Computing for SuccessFactors and has been a Partner at Dakota Capital since 2004. Mr. Fisher brings nearly 30 years of high technology experience to the team. Before joining Dakota, Mr. Fisher had been a Venture Partner at TechFund since 2000. Mr. Fisher was also the CIO for DriveCam. He was with Qualcomm before that serving as the VP - IT at Qualcomm and CIO, CDMA Technologies Group at the firm, where he was responsible for defining and enabling Qualcomm's mobile data strategy and revenue plan. Prior to Qualcomm, Mr. Fisher was the acting CTO and VP - Architecture and Technology Strategy at eBay, where he re-architected the entire web site and driving the growth of the firm's technology strategy. Prior to eBay, Mr. Fisher was the Chief Architect and VP - Global Architecture, Security and Vendor Management for Gateway. At Gateway, Mr. Fisher managed the firm's major e-commerce initiatives, deployed the company's ERP, CRM, and SFA applications, and led the technical due diligence for the firm's venture and strategic activities.
Mr. Fisher has worked as a senior executive in Technology Strategy, Business Development, and M&A for a variety of software and technology companies, including Exactium, Seer Technologies, and KnowledgeWare. Mr. Fisher began his career at IBM, rising to a level where he created and led the firm's Vendor Alliances Program for Software. While at IBM Mr. Fisher also established one of the world's first corporate strategic investment funds. Mr. Fisher invested $40 million of IBM's capital and returned $450 million in 4 years.
Mr. Fisher earned a BA, summa cum laude, from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte.
